Toothless and a Mess

Max has lost two of his bottom teeth in less than a week... ...and I am a mess.

(Thanks for letting me use your pillow idea, Jill! Like a nerd I took a picture of him with the tooth in the pillow, which you can't see, rather than after the tooth fairy came with the money in it -duh! Oh well.)

Max had his last day of preschool/summer school today...

...and I am a mess.

I know, Max getting older is just part of life. And it is wonderful, but I have found myself more emotional about it all than I thought I would be. The tooth part doesn't bother me so much, but I think Max being officially done with preschool has sent me over the edge. The tears just keep creeping up and as anyone who knows me would guess, once they start, it's almost impossible for me to stop them. I guess it's because I don't have another little one to send off to school anytime soon. While this marks the end of a phase in Max's childhood, and I fear that it may also be the start of my time as a mother at home coming to an end as well. We are hoping with all our might that is not the case, but I admit the possibility crosses my mind and makes my heart ache.
So last night Max and I wrote letters to the best preschool teacher we ever could have wished for, and gave her a Leopard Snuggie (that she mentioned she wanted a while back) and a Snickers bar. I even stitched "Love, Max 7-28-10" on the bottom corner so she will remember us each time she uses it. She is so fun, loving, patient, and caring, and we will both miss her tons. We love you, Teacher Pat!
So while Max is toothless twice over with the mouth of an upside down beaver and fastly approaching everyday schooling, I am a total mess!
Wish me luck for the first day of Kindergarten...I'm afraid I will desperately need it!

I hate watching my kids getting older. Sending my kids off to school is never a happy day. OF course, I wouldn't mind seeing Hayden lose even one tooth! XOXOXO

You are such a great mom! Was Max excited about the Tooth Fairy? He is a handsome boy with or without teeth!

Aah! I'm so glad you made a pillow! It turned out cute.

Andrea, I was so where you are when Lily started kindergarten last year. I missed her incredibly! But it all turned out wonderfully. School was great for Lily and I survived. I must say, I've loved having her home for the summer and will miss her again when school starts. But it's good growth for both of us. :)

I hope hope hope you get your next little one soon. I'll put another prayer up in your behalf. You are such a wonderful woman and mother!

Oh Andrea!!! You are so great!!! I can't believe that Max is big enough to start kindergarten already either. I still remember him as the little 18 month old I use to watch. It does get easier as time goes on. Alyssa starts 3rd grade tomorrow and I am not ready for summer to be over yet. YOu guys are always in my prayers and I sure hope you guys will get a little one soon. Love to you all!!!

Andrea! I can't believe it, either! He's getting so big. I hope a new little one becomes a part of your family soon. You are such a great mom (loved the lego sno cone hut).
