A Sweet Moment

Today was "one of those days". I won't bore you with the details, but basically I ended up running around all day like a crazy lady, complete with ugly outfit and terrible hair. One thing after another kept popping up, and Max decided from the time he woke up that he wasn't in a very cooperative mood either. So blah blah blah, we didn't get home until 6pm. As soon as I walked in the door we had a visitor come by and before I knew it, it was 6:45pm. We were all super hungry, I hadn't made dinner, and I knew Craig had to leave for home teaching any mintue, so as soon as our guest left I went into the kitchen to try and scrounge something up. Little did I know, while I had been talking with my friend, Max had set the table and made 3 peanut butter and honey sandwiches for dinner! He also gave each of us a granola bar and even set out milk or juice for us to drink. It was the sweetest gesture. And the sandwiches were really good! How could I hold on to any of the frustations I'd been having - including with him - after that? And who would have ever guessed that my 5 year-old was going to make us dinner tonight?!

What a sweetheart. I love that Max can be such a "tough guy" and also be a sensitive little guy. :)

I miss you! Hope you're feeling better today!

What a thoughtful little man. I know what you mean about having 'one of those days' and then they turn around and do something super cute. I think they can tell we need extra loving sometimes. Go Max!
