I am so behind in my blogging lately. Lots going on, I guess. Anyway, we made it out to Colorado for a little R&R after Craig took the bar (phew - thank goodness that is over)! As you'll be able to see from the HUGE slew of pics, we did a ton of stuff over the two and a half weeks that we were there and had a blast! Max gets a little lonely being an only child at home, so needless to say he was in 7th heaven with all 6 his cousins from my side.
It was such a nice break for Craig, too. He worked so hard preparing for the bar. He's amazing. In case you are wondering, we were so extremely fortunate to have found a job!
We want to make it back to Colorado someday, but we are just grateful to have found a job, so we're fine to stay here!
We enjoyed activities such as going to the pool, (here is Brynn holding Max's hand as they walked - so cute!)
going to Chatfield for some waterskiing,
laughing as Uncle BJ let Max drive the boat. Looks like he had nothing to do with it...
playing on the "beach", mini rocks as opposed to fine sand - ouch,
hanging out at my parents house with T-Bone,
and jumping on the tramp (until Grant ripped it! It's ok - we still love you)!
Then we went up to the cabin for a little more fun...as if we hadn't had enough already. At this point Craig had gone back for a few days to study for ONE LAST TEST (sheesh). We missed him here.
Papa took the grandkids fishing at a nearby pond just for kids. The first day was unsuccessful. It drizzled quite a bit before the rain really came down. So we ventured out again the next day and.....
Max "caught" a fish! Trying to make a 4-year old just sit still on a bench and hold a pole for more than 60 seconds is quite the task. But I called him back to help me reel in the fish when the bobber went under. He cranked the reel a few times before running away in excitement, but stuck around when the fish was actually out of the water. Everywhere we'd go he'd tell people he caught a fish - even strangers at the store. So funny!

And what good is fishing if you can't take it home and eat it?! Here I am preparing the authentic trout meal for Max and I - thanks to my dad for showing me how.
The kids played baseball in the driveway with Uncles BJ and Grant,
and playing in the pool Nana bought for them. They had so much fun together!
This pic is of my favorite player, Garrett Atkins. He's had a really rough season, but I know he'll come back around. I just hope he is still with the Rockies next year! It looks like he's looking at me in the picture, but I'm pretty sure he's actually looking at the batting coach. Kinda freaked me out until I realized that.

And on our way back from this glorious vacation, we stopped in Grand Junction to fill up the car, but couldn't get back on the freeway because President Obama was going to be driving through shortly. Although we are not fans of our current president, we thought we'd make the most of the stop and support the group of people with the "No Obama Care!" signs. I'm glad to live in a country where we can voice our opinions. I took a video of the motorcade passing through, but had a hard time getting it to upload.

If you are still reading, bless you! This was a long post and I didn't have the patience to split it up. Thanks for taking a look at the fun trip we had to Colorado - one of the greatest places on earth!

HUGER CONGRATS on the job find!!!!!!! I'm glad you'll be in Utah for a little while longer!
So funny about the couple behind you at the game. How can people have so little self-awareness? Then again, you did get to listen in on some interesting gossip, I guess. :)
Let's get together soon. We want to hear all about Craig's job, Emma would love to play with Max, and I want to hear about how the adoption process is going.
Andrea,
you're hysterical. The whole recap of the people's conversation behind you at the Rockies game-so funny! I can't believe how big Max is..and what a fun trip you had out in Colorado! I didn't know you guys had a cabin. Why wasn't I ever invited??! (;
