Aquarium Day

We went to the Living Planet Aquarium today with Max's summer preschool class. Max made sure he saw each and every critter there and we had a really good time. We even went to a "Superhero" show where we got to see lots of the "super" animals who live in the rainforest.
Classic Max face

These are upside down jellyfish. You can't see them too well, but I thought it was a cool shot since you had to look through a glass sphere to see them.
Octopus

This photo didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped, there is a blue poison dart frog in the very back that I thought was pretty amazing. The only animal on the planet that can eat this frog without dying is a certain type of snake that lives in the Amazon whose stomach has special enzymes that can break down the poison. But if they eat an adult frog, they could still die. Pretty interesting, wouldn't you say?

One of the cooler parts of the Aquarium is the sting ray pool. Kids are allowed to touch the sting rays as they swim by. Max wasn't interested in touching them, but loved watching them splash against the wall.

We'd love to go again, so if you're in the area and want to go to the Aquarium, give us a call!

I know Tyler would LOVE that place. It looks like the perfect place for curious little boys!
