Preschool!

Max started preschool today! Like many of the posts I've seen this time of year, I too am feeling the mixed emotions about my child going off to school. Even though he's only in school two days a week, it still feels weird. I think Max will do well and I'm anxious for him to have some great learning experiences. I really wish I could watch him and see how he acts and hear the cute or embarassing things he says, but of course, I can't.
When I walked Max into his class this morning, he was petrified. The teacher had each child stand and say their name. I didn't think Max would do it, but I gave him the chance. He stood up and as soon as he opened his mouth, he chickened out and ran behind me. But after about 5 more minutes, he had quit clinging to my leg, and said "ok - bye, mom" and started shouting random things at his teacher like "Annie (referring to his cousin) is 2!", and something else I can't remember. It was then that I knew he was feeling like himself and I didn't worry one bit about him after that.

P.S. Don't worry, we didn't let him take the fake gun to school. He just wouldn't let us take the picture without it.

Their first day is the worst, but you're going to really love your free time... at least I know I do!

I love that gun... I bet the teacher will get some good laughs from the funny things he said. He is such a cute kid.

Wow, I can't believe he is going off to school... it seems like only yesterday we were neighbors at Novell and you were pregnant with him (sniffle). Actually, that feels like forever ago when I really think about it. Those old Novell days seem so long ago. :)

That is awesome Craig has one year left! Hip, hip hooray!! (that is what I'll be shouting in three years... ugh... but I'm sure it will come faster than I think... I hope!!!) :)
