T-ball

T-ball, teeball, however you spell it. Max finished t-ball the middle of this month, and it was so awesome for him. He had a really cool coach and fun teammates. I was told before he started by a friend that t-ball games were the most boring things to watch. I couldn't disagree more. I went home after each game having thought how fun that game was. It was fun to see the things kids do as they are learning the rules to a new game - ranging from kids throwing the ball behind them instead of straight forward, to running straight to second base after hitting the ball. I even laughed as Max attempted to slide on the grass into home plate a few times. It was just a good time. We'll miss it, but there's always next year!

Here are a couple of videos of Max. I recorded these on our digital camera (since our video camera is on the fritz right now), so there is no sound. This one is of him making a play to first base. He is the kid in the field on the far left. It took him a while to learn to always be ready and in "the stance", instead of sitting down pulling grass and putting it in his glove.

This last one is of him at bat. Notice how Max throws the bat more than swing at the ball, almost runs into the first baseman, and tries to outrun his own teammate to home plate. If you look closely at the end (there was a lady with a ginormous umbrella in the way), you sort of see him do a dive roll, which was habitual for Max for some reason after crossing home plate. Fun stuff.
