Well, I guess knocking on wood doesn't work, or the table I knocked on was some kind of cheap laminate. I was talking with my younger sister Hannah on Saturday and the topic of speeding tickets came up. I proudly stated that I had never received a speeding ticket, or been pulled over in my driving life (knocking on the table of "supposed" wood, of course). It was only natural then, that the very next day, I was pulled over for the first time on my way back to Utah on highway 6! I knew the day would come, but I wanted to make it to at least 30 before I broke my lucky streak. But there is a little bit of good news in that I only got a warning! Thanks to a generous and jokster-ish cop (whose jokes I didn't really get since I was so nervous), I avoided what would have been about a $400 ticket! (On a side note, I was so nervous that I unbuckled my seatbelt after I pulled over and then freaked out that I was going to get cited for it. Maybe next time I won't be so frenzied). It was a bit lame, though. I was going 70 in a 50 mph "construction zone" if you can call it that since the only thing present were a few cones and no workers or machines to be found. Oh well, the law is the law and I can't complain since I got a nice cop who didn't give me a ticket. Ok, so wish me luck as I try to make it to 30 without a speeding ticket, knock on wood........NOT!

So funny about you unbuckling your seatbelt and then feeling frenzied. That would be me exactly. Why do we do silly things when we're nervous? I've only received one ticket ever, and it was for not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign. Of course it was a police car that I pulled out in front of. I was so scared and nervous, that I hardly even made it into the flow of traffic--I went straight for the curb and basically pulled myself over. A few seconds later he put his lights on and pulled up behind me. He was probably thinking, "Well, I wasn't going to pull her over, but I guess if she WANTS a ticket..." SO LAME!
you lucky dog!
Sorry to hear about being pulled over. Lucky you didn't get a ticket though. Good job dodging that bullet.
tisk, tisk. just kidding!
a warning? lucky!
